Entoscope ("we", "us") is developed by Zelos Apps. We are the controller of the personal data described below. This policy explains what information Entoscope collects and how it is used. Contact us at celos.solutions@gmail.com with any questions or to exercise your rights below.
Your photo collection, album progress and chat history are stored only on your device and are not uploaded to our servers.
By submitting a photo for identification, you agree that our identification provider may use and modify it for commercial purposes: to answer your identification request, to develop and improve its own machine-learning models, to provide the photo to its other customers as part of an identification result, and to publish it under a CC BY-SA 4.0 licence, after blurring any faces in it. This permission cannot be withdrawn once given, so please don't submit a photo that shows an identifiable person, a private document, or anything else you'd rather not have published. Our identification provider anonymises the photo and identification data it holds six months after receiving it.
We do not sell your data.
We rely on: performance of a contract, to provide identification, purchases and the AI chat you ask for; our legitimate interest, to prevent free-tier abuse and to keep logs for security and fraud prevention, and to understand how the app is used and improve it (analytics, which you can switch off in Settings); and the licence you grant us and our identification provider in the Terms of Use, for the photo uses described above.
Most of our infrastructure runs in the EU. Some of our service providers may process data in the United States or elsewhere outside the EEA; where that happens, we rely on recognised safeguards such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses.
| Data | Kept for |
|---|---|
| Free-identification count (per account) | 24 months after last use |
| Free-identification count (per device, HMAC only) | 24 months after the device was last seen — kept even after a deletion request, so the free tier can't be reset by reinstalling |
| Daily usage counts | 7 days |
| Subscription status | 24 months after the subscription ends |
| Purchase records | As long as refund/chargeback handling needs them |
| Identification log (app identifier hash, identification result) | 6 months |
| Reported AI answers | 90 days |
| Crash reports | 90 days |
| Analytics events | Google Analytics' standard retention setting |
| Photos held by our identification provider | Anonymised after 6 months; see above for the separate publishing licence, which does not expire |
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to our processing of your data, and to receive a copy of it in a portable format. To exercise any of these, email us with your Support ID (see below). We'll respond within one month. Two limits: if you've already uninstalled the app, we have no name, email or device identifier that lets us find you in the clear, so we may not be able to identify which records are yours; and a photo our identification provider has already published under its licence can't be un-published. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Because Entoscope does not use accounts, we cannot look up your data by name or email. To request deletion of any data tied to your anonymous identifier, email celos.solutions@gmail.com with the Support ID shown on the app's Settings screen (subscribers: please also include your Google Play order number, found in your receipt email). We will delete your identification history, subscription record and anonymous identifier from our servers within 30 days; your on-device photo collection and album are deleted immediately when you uninstall the app. Some records (e.g. purchase receipts, and the per-device free-tier check above) may be retained where required by law or for fraud prevention.
Entoscope is intended for users aged 13 and over.
We may update this policy from time to time; the "last updated" date above will reflect the latest revision. If a change is significant, the app will ask you to accept the new version before you can continue using it.
